Perth: A quick history
Named after a city in central Scotland from where its first settlers came, Perth is a 26.11-square-mile town that is home to more than 3,600 residents. It was first occupied in 1772 and was later formed from parts of the town of Amsterdam in 1838. In 1842, sections of nearby towns, Broadalbin and Mayfield were added to Perth’s territories.
